WASHINGTON, DC -- House Democratic Caucus Chairman Bob Menendez (D-NJ) was named a conferee to the upcoming House and Senate negotiations on legislation to overhaul and reform intelligence-gathering agencies. The Conference Committee will meet to negotiate an agreement between the bi-partisan Senate legislation, S.2845, and the House Republican 9/11 bill, H.R. 10. Other House Democrats named to the conference are Rep. Jane Harman of California, the ranking Democrat on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and Rep. Ike Skelton of Missouri, the ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee.
