Recent Changes To Passenger Checkpoint Screening Procedure

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has introduced new passenger checkpoint screening procedures, effective the week of September 20, 2004, to increase our ability to identify explosives and potential threats to aviation security. These include increased use of explosives trace detection machines, expanded pat-down searches and greater discretion for screeners to refer individuals for additional screening.
