System Indicators
(Download Only)

System Indicators provides information on the current status and trends in the National Aviation System operations. The data include accident and incident rates and measures of efficiency, inspector activity, compliance and environmental factors. Data are updated quarterly and a full report is produced annually.

You can view the 1998 System Indicators Report by downloading the entire report in Microsoft Word 6.0 format. Spreadsheet files (Microsoft Excel ver. 4.0) containing System Indicators data, updated quarterly, are also available.

Please Note: If you do not have MS Word or MS Excel installed on your computer, you will need to download the MS Word Viewer and the MS Excel Viewer in order to continue.

Accident Indicators - Numbers and rates of aircraft accidents by operational category. (102 K)

Incident Indicators - Numbers and rates of aircraft and airspace incidents by operational category. (159 K)

Efficiency Measures - Measures of reliability and operational availability of major FAA facilities and services, and aircraft delay rates. (33.8 K)

Compliance Measures - Industry-wide percentage of Stage 3 aircraft and Aircraft Certification System Evaluation data. (17.5 K)

Inspector Activity Measures - Number and rate of Inspector Activities by type of activity. (18.7 K)

Environmental Indicators (Two files) - Trends in the overall operating environment (forecasts of GDP, enplanements, IFR aircraft handled, and numbers of airports, airmen, etc.).
